About Woodson

Woodson has been an All-Day Kindergarten Center since 2005. Our school offers many opportunities for students to develop skills that will prepare them for learning now and in their futures. Students have quality, daily educational opportunities including:

• 120 minutes of reading instruction
• 60 minutes of math
• 20 minutes of Boost-Up or Gym Activities
• 20 minutes of play centers
• 30 minutes of recess
• 30 minutes of lunch

Students access learning through hands-on opportunities in a variety of settings, including our greenhouse and play centers, as well as technology like iPads in every classroom. Parents have a choice of either the traditional and the Modified 45/15 calendar at Woodson that aligns with Sumner Elementary School. In addition, Woodson is recognized as a PBIS school and was named a 2015 Exemplar School by MDE for implementation of PBIS.

Attendance

Please call the office at 507-460-1400 if your child will not be at school. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If we are not available, please leave a message stating your child's name, reason for absence from school, and expected date of return. Your help is greatly appreciated!
